Valerian root and Melatonin
Valerian root is one of the most effective natural sleep aids available and this herbal remedy has a long history of use for sleeping problems like insomnia. Valerian root has been approved by numerous major drug agencies all over the world and it works by affecting the central nervous system.
Another popular natural sleep aid is melatonin which is the hormone that regulates sleep and waking cycles. Melatonin is naturally produced in bodies but the production of melatonin decreases as a person grows. Melatonin helps a person to fall asleep faster, but has no effect on total time.
When choosing any natural sleep aid it is still important to determine what works best but what is good is that either of them can be taken with confidence that a person is working in harmony with his body rather than drugging into submission.
